Pushing Back Darkness by Spreading the Good News of King Jesus

2 Cities Church

Do you want to be a part in celebrating the Grace and Goodness of our LORD?

Our Vision

2 Cities Church exists to change the world.  Our church began in the hearts of about 20 people who gathered together in the lobby of a local Burger King restaurant to pray for our community in June of  2019.

These 5 families began to have a vision to create a church that would reach across racial and denominational lines and be united through the good news that Jesus came to save sinners. We are a multi-ethnic, multi-denominational church that seeks to push back darkness in the Chattahoochee Valley and introduce people to the captain of their souls.

We deliberately started our Sunday services at the Cunningham Center on the campus of Columbus State University. From this geographic epicenter of the Chattahoochee Valley, we are positioned to reach college students, the military community and our metro area with the gospel, train these men and women up in the faith, and send them out to change the world.

Meet Our Pastors

Pastor Jeff Struecker
Founding Pastor

Pastor Jeff Struecker is recognized as a warrior, author, professor, and nationally known speaker.  However, Pastor Jeff’s first priority is following Jesus passionately and leading 2 Cities Church to follow Jesus also.  Featured in the book Black Hawk Down, Pastor Jeff served many years in the United States military. Upon retiring from the army in 2011, he was inducted into the US Ranger Hall of Fame.  He has authored numerous books. His books and military experience have kept him in demand as a featured speaker for decades.  He holds a Ph.D. and is a part-time professor on the faculty of Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary.  He is married to his high school sweetheart, Dawn. They have five children and four grandchildren.

Pastor Troy Singleton
Executive Pastor

Pastor Troy is a well-respected leader in the community and has served for over 20 years in the church. Most of it was in the African Methodist Episcopal Church. He served as the Senior Pastor of two African Methodist Episcopal Churches for over four years while still on active duty. He witnessed the growth of the church during that time. Pastor Troy served over 23 years in the United States Army. Upon retirement, he work alongside believers to share the gospel with the lost in the Chattahoochee Valley. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Troy University and is currently enrolled at Liberty University for his master’s degree. He is married to Shavonne, and they have one daughter Trinity.

They met through a mutual friend and started serving the community together right away. This ministry relationship quickly developed into a strong friendship. They remain committed to building a church that represents our community and exhausts King Jesus. Together, Pastors Jeff and Troy are praying and working to help 2 Cities Church become a representation on earth of God’s global church as described in Revelations 5:9.

CORE VALUES

WOW FOLKS

Our God deserves our best efforts. Christians should give God their absolute best in everything they do. In our time, energy, and abilities, we should give our best efforts to our savior. This is the underlying principle that drives everything at 2 Cities Church. We don’t want to just meet your expectations; we want to exceed them. We want people to be blown away by what they’ve experienced at 2 Cities Church.

LIVE FREE

“It is for freedom that Christ set you free (Galatians 5:1).” Unfortunately, many churches are defined by the rules and religious restrictions that they place on people. This is not what 2 Cities Church will be known for. We believe that our great God has set us free from the law of sin and death. King Jesus has given us the power to live by his Holy Spirit. Because people have a human tendency to try to get to Heaven through their good works, 2 Cities Church stands firm against that burden, which is the basis for legalism. This human attempt to get into Heaven by following a bunch of religious rules distorts the gospel and minimizes the blood of Jesus.

HAVE FUN

We believe that following Jesus Christ should be fun. Because we have the forgiveness of our sins, fellowship with our Creator and a future home in Heaven, we can face the challenges and difficulties of life with joy. Over the centuries, Christians have notoriously been portrayed as boring and gloomy people. We believe living out our Christian faith should be fun, even in the work God has called us according to (Ecclesiastes 2:24). The beauty of the gospel is hidden when God’s people look miserable after coming to faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, 2 Cities Church takes having fun very seriously!

LOVE FIERCELY

Jesus called his people to love God and love others fiercely in Matthew 22:37-40. This is the purpose for which all Christians are to devote their lives. Loving God with our heart, soul, and mind requires us to surrender everything to him. Our God loves us with a relentless, reckless love. He asked his people to love with the same kind of love. At 2 Cities Church, we place nothing above loving our God with our whole being. At the same time, Jesus commands his people to love others as they love themselves. This type of love is sacrificial. It means loving people who aren’t always lovely. This challenge to love our neighbors fearlessly causes us to place their thoughts and needs above our own. In loving fiercely, we are loving like Jesus.

REACH FOR

2 Cities Church is radically committed to pursuing the Great Commission found in Matthew 28:18-20. The Great Commission is Jesus’s famous last words to his people before leaving earth. Therefore, we believe we should leverage every resource we have to see this mission fulfilled. We believe that if God’s people will sacrifice everything in pursuit of this great commission, it can be fulfilled in our lifetime! That’s what motivates 2 Cities Church to reach far and wide with the gospel. We want to see Jesus’s gospel taken to the ends of the earth. This is what we mean by the word far. However, we also want to see the gospel bring racial and ethnic unity among God’s people. This is what we mean by the word wide. We are pursuing gospel unity as described in 1 Corinthians 12:13. The Great Commission compels us to pursue racial unity in our neighborhoods and to penetrate all nations with the gospel of our great savior.
