Hope and Perseverance

James F.

Hi, my name is James, and I shouldn’t be here.

I’d like to talk to you about hope and perseverance. The purpose of the hope and perseverance is to show you how much God has done in my life.

Before I was born, my mother was never supposed to have me. She was told to abort me, and she was told that I wasn’t viable.

I had lots of issues, but when I was born, I was born perfectly normal. So that just proves that God was in it. As a child, I had lots of accents, which led to hundreds of surgeries and lots of issues dealing with those injuries.

When I was eight years old, I was at church. My father was a pastor, and he was preaching. I don’t remember what he was preaching about, but I remember that the Spirit of God told me that I needed to go. That was the time when I needed to accept Him. So, I went forward, accepted Christ, and then I was baptized.

After Jesus saved me, He gave me hope and perseverance. The hope He gave me was that He would not leave me in the hardest times, and no matter what, I would be with Him someday in Heaven. Perseverance was that as I’ve had hardships and lots of dark times in life, because God was closer than a friend and a brother, He has brought me through. I could look to Him, and we could communicate even when nobody else was around.

If you need hope and perseverance, talk to me. Let’s talk through it. God can give you hope and perseverance, as well.

Hebrews 12:1 (RSV)
“Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also LAY ASIDE EVERY WEIGHT, and sin which clings so closely, and let us RUN with perseverance (whatever) the race that is set before us, LOOKING TO JESUS the pioneer and perfecter of our faith, who for the JOY that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured from sinners such hostility against himself, so that you may not grow weary or fainthearted.”
